DEAR FRIEND # 3

Dear friend the miracle of friendship

Dwells within your heart

Whether we’re in each others company

Or we are far apart

OUT LIKE A LIGHT

I can remember like yesterday

So fearful of the dark night

My boy wouldn’t sleep a wink

Without the comfort of a light

Now he’s a teenage boy

He’s fearless and stays out all night

MIDDLE AGED SEAT

I’m in my middle years now

And my new car is a wow

It’s fast, new and sporty

Just the opposite of me

It is sleekly lined

With its curves well defined

It has a nice interior

The leather is quite superior

My only complaint would be

The bucket seats you see

As they are made to the design

Of a smaller bucket than mine

MONEY CAN'T BUY HAPPINESS

Money can't buy happiness

That is almost definitely so

But it’s more comfortable to cry

In a mansion than a bungalow

SENIOR JOINTS

If after the age of sixty years

I think this is safely said

And you don't wake up aching in every joint

You are almost certainly dead

THE THREE R’S

I was raised on the three R’s

At least on their importance

Reading, riting and rithmatic

Though spelling was more happenstance

But a greater three r ’s exist

Greater than literacy, grammar or fractions

Respect for oneself, Respect for others,

And Responsibility for all of your actions

LIBERALS

Don’t you just love the liberal crew

So called because of their liberal views

But when you examine their reasoning

Their liberality is merely posturing

Charles Kennedy was deposed of course

Because he was too fond of the sauce

Jeremy Thorpe had to go way back when

Because of his fondness for young men

While Menzies Campbell was told

He had to go because he was just too old

The party so proud of their liberal principals

Are in reality not that liberal at all
