In these days of political correctness
Woke does little than
cause more stress
Their cure for
discrimination seems to be
To still discriminate
but to do it positively
And in order to enable
freedom of expression
It appears that censorship
is the solution
To be politically correct
We must call fat
people, jolly
And the really fat
people
Have to be called
morbidly jolly
That's political correctness that is
When my little neighbour Allen
A short ass with a chip on his shoulder
Is actually vertically
challenged

People are so easily offended today
This is quite ironic
really
As due to political
correctness
We are censored so heavily
And with all the
sanitising
There is so little
opportunity
But those who do take
offence
Fall into three
distinct categories
Firstly, the genuinely
offended
Those who feel the
detriment,
Whose opinion is
seldom heard
Unless it’s politically
expedient
Second, the white
middle class heterosexuals
Who like to be
offended on others behalf
And are particularly
suspicious
At anything that gets
a laugh
Thirdly, come the
professionals
Those who get offended
for a living
They frequent the
morning TV sofas
And are relentlessly
unforgiving
The professionals feel
no offence
But find their roles
financially fulfilling
They will take umbrage
for anyone
Just to earn another
shilling
Even worse however is
anticipated offence
Those who want to act
just in case
Some unspeakable
offence may be caused
If things are
unchanged or left in place
The original intention
may well have been
That a better society
was planned
But what they have
managed to do instead
Is to make the world
more bland
They’ve taken all the fun away
It’s prohibited from
the school day
Thanks to the
politically correct crusade
And the health and
safety brigade
There can be no
unacceptable names
Or boisterous
competitive games
Now playing in the
snow and ice
You must play games
safe and nice
The nanny state has
declared
That the nation’s
children must be spared
But when I was a child,
we did alright
And we did survive an
occasional fight
But we had more
freedom in my view
We could choose what
things to do
You didn’t have to
climb in trees
Or pick the scabs off
wounded knees
You didn’t have to
play kiss chase
Or catch a snowball in
the face
You didn’t have to
make a slide in the snow
If you didn’t want to
you could say no
Conkers was not a
compulsory game
You didn’t have to
call girls names
You could roll in the
grass again and again
Or jump in puddles
after heavy rain
You didn’t have to
skip with girls
Or run with grass seed
in your curls
If you didn’t want to
there was no need
You could sit alone
and quietly and read
But if you chose to
you could do it
And after all we were
young and fit
Don’t you just love them?
If only for their belief in equality
Or a love of all things PC
And an unswerving moral certainty
It’s a shame that to become a liberal
A sense of humour bypass is necessary
