ARE YOU WEARING A LEEK?

Are you wearing a leek?

The Welsh national emblem

An aromatic little symbol

Displayed out of patriotism

ARE YOU WEARING A DAFF?

Are you wearing a daff?

The Welsh floral emblem

A pretty yellow symbol

Displayed out of patriotism

ARE YOU WEARING A DAFFODIL?

Are you wearing a daffodil?

The Welsh floral emblem

A pretty yellow symbol

Displayed out of patriotism

LL$!!FAM@!!£ER L#%@$!?!?ILIOG

I was in North Wales

Just the other day

When I was verbally assailed

While visiting Conway

A string of fourteen letter words

Was hurled my way

21st CENTURY NURSERY RHYMES # 299

Taffy was a Welshman

He came from Porthcawl

I think if he were from Cardiff

He’d hardly be Welsh at all

“Taffy was a Welshman was an actual nursery rhyme

Popularised in the 18th Century, so don’t blame me”

SCOTTISH INDEPENDENCE # 2

As a proud Briton

I will be disappointed

In a strange way

Not if Scotland leaves

But more so

That Wales will stay

THE ABERGELE ROADS

At dusk we walk slowly by the shoreline

The waves lapping at the sand break gently

While children play among the craggy rock pools

Or happily skimming stones on the sea

Dogs chase balls as we stand to consider,

The tide is it in, or out, no matter

The setting sun lights up the western sky

Illuminating stray clouds with gold strands

Then surrounding them with bright bursting rays

This sunburst silhouettes the beachcombers

Then blinds us all as it hits the wet sand

As quickly as it burst on us it was gone

Until we are blinded by the next one

Before the horizon swallows the sun
