OF SWEET GARDENIAS

Of sweet gardenias

The lassie smelt

As I knelt beside

The svelte little Celt

Where on her knee

My hand briefly dwelt

Before it slid upward

Until it felt her pelt

21st CENTURY NURSERY RHYMES # 131

Oh, Pillykin, Willykin, Winky Wee!

How does the President take his tea?

He takes it with sugar, he takes it with milk,

He takes it in bed wearing pyjamas of silk

ARE YOU WEARING SOMETHING BORROWED?

Are you wearing something borrowed?

As part of your beautiful wedding dress

Something loaned to you with love

Intended to bring luck and lovingly bless

WHEN THE BURNING SUN SINKS LOW

When the burning sun sinks low

Setting the western sky aglow

And the evening shadows grow

This is the time of the amorous beau

WHEN THE MONTH GOES ROUND

When the month goes round

Beware whatever you do

My wife not only has PMS

She has GPS too

Which means she’s a crabby bitch

And she can find you

THE GIRL IN THE ONE-PIECE DRESS

The girl in the one-piece dress

Figure hugging

Seamless and crease free

Smooth and fluid

A curvy lass

No bones showed through

Everything moved in unison

Smooth as liquid silk

In fact, the contents of that dress

Seemed not to be a solid

So fluid was the movement

SHORT IN STATURE

Short in stature

Tall in stories

Short in grace

Long in charm

Slow in speech

Quick in boast

High in pride

Low in humility

Quick to brag

Slow in denial

Quick to arrive

Slow to leave

Slow to enamour

Quick to bore

Slow on the uptake

Quick out the door
