CARRY A LIGHT

When you think about it

A flashlight actually is

Nothing more than a case

For holding dead batteries

WHAT’S HE SO HAPPY ABOUT

When a newly married man appears

Happy and smiling there’s no surprise

But when a man even after ten years

Is happy and smiling, we wonder why

I WANNA HOLD HER HAND

When a man, before the wedding day

Holds on to the woman’s hand, they say

It’s a certain sign of a love intense

After marriage it’s just self-defence

FONETIC IRONIE

I have often thought it ironic

That to spell the word phonetic

You are not required in reality

To spell the word phonetically

IS MY JOB WORSE THAN PRISON? NO

When you’re behind bars in prison much of your time is spent

Looking through the bars dreaming of your release day event

But if you’re at work you spend much of your time looking afar

To the end of the day when you can get out and get inside a bar

IS MY JOB WORSE THAN PRISON? YES

When you’re in prison you may have plenty of time to kill

But you don’t have to work, and the taxpayer foots the bill

But when you’re at work it costs you to get there every day

And to provide for prisoners they deduct taxes from your pay

IT’S A MAD WORLD

It takes neurotics

To build castles in the air

But it takes psychotics

To live in them there
