AFTER SUNSET AS THE LIGHT DIED

After sunset as the light died

I stayed up all night and tried

To figure out where the sun could be

Then it dawned on me

THE DAWN OF DREAMS

Heralding the dawn,

The first fingers of light

Steal in through the glass

Penetrating the gloom

Waking me from my slumber

And stirring me from my dreams

Which but a moment ago

Were vividly real and tangible

Yet now are only half remembered things

Drifting away like mist on the breeze

NATURE POEMS

BEAUTEOUS ROSE

Beauteous Rose in summer dress
In scented splendour
The courtly bees attends thee
Thy fragrant demeanour
In sunlit display
Leaves all nature in awe

THE NIGHT IS STILL

The night is still
And summer flowers sleep
To awake with dawn

A NEW DAY DAWNING

On the distant horizon
The embers of the dawn
Brightly glow
As God blows gentle breath
Upon the glowing coals
And lights up another day

WANE BITTER SEASON

Wane bitter season,
dare Snowdrops to appear, before
winters lingering bite

SPRING WAKES

Spring wakes from lazy
slumber, finding the Crocus heads
already on display

MORNING DELIVERY

The sun slips beyond the horizon
Like a letter slips into an envelope
Where it will stay until the dawn
When the envelope reopens
Spilling its contents into the sky
Brightening the world
Lifting the heart with its delivery
Like a missive from a loved one

DAWN

The distant mountains
Pale in the mist
Reach up to the sky like children
Waiting to be kissed

As the sun comes slowly into view
It turns the vast sky blue
Birds awaken bright as the day
As if to chase the night away
