For those born on Christmas day
They miss out, which is a caper
But to rub salt into the wound
Wrap their gift in xmas paper
For those born on Christmas day
They miss out, which is a caper
But to rub salt into the wound
Wrap their gift in xmas paper
We all remember that moment as kids,
That sudden
realization that makes you sad
When you notice Santa
Claus has used
The same wrapping
paper as mum and dad
I always make the effort to go home
Though it fills me
with dread to be clear
Two days of unwelcome
parenting advice
From relatives I see
once or twice a year
When we sit down to Christmas dinner
I’m relieved and feel
incredibly grateful
Because annoying
relatives speak less
During the meal as
their mouths are full
People travel considerable distances
To be with those they
hold dear
Because these are the
special people
They only see once or
twice a year
But the realization
that once or twice
Was way too much soon
became clear
This year, Mum was determined, for the first time,
To have the happy time
the family had lacked
So, when she was
preparing the bird for the oven
She stuffed the Turkey
with sage, onion and Prozac!
Christmas isn't about having the biggest tree
Or having the most
Christmas lights on view
Nor is it all the
treats or gifts beneath the tree
It's about who you
share it with and that’s you
